Disney WorldDisney World in Orlando, Florida is a place of magic and dreams and the perfect place to have a honey vacation. We picked up 4 day passes at the local Walk Disney store and managed to visit all the Walk Disney World parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney-MGM Studios and the Epcot Center. We stayed in a hotel called Hotel Royal Plaza near the the parks with 30 minute bus pickups. The hotel was hotel was within walking distance of Downtown Disney, a nice souvenir, restaurant, and movie area where we had caricutures done.
Some attractions that we both really enjoyed at Magic Kingdom were the Wishes fireworks show, all the mountain rides like Space Mountain and Splash Mountain, The Haunted Mansion. The parades were kind of interesting to watch as well. The very best ride at MGM Studios was the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith's rock video and music. This was especially nostalgic and pleasing to the ears since we are both AeroSmith fans. The ride starts out extremely fast and I remember regretting boarding the ride the instant that limousine styled car took off. But, only for that instant. The rest was great after being transported through the dark to the tune of Walk This Way.The Indiana Jones stunt show was quite theatrical and enjoyable. We both unabashedly shyed away from the notorious Tower of Terror, a tall building from which screams--very sincere sounding screams--were regularly heard. Epcot favorites were Mission Space, Illuminations fireworks show and especiall all the multicultural centers in the pavillion. The Animal Kingdom seemed strictly for kids and was the least of our favorites. We spent a little too much time in the ImageWorks - The Kodak "What If" Labs and ended up getting lost outside the Epcot. But, this allowed us to see some really nice resort hotels where we fantasized about staying on our next visit.
We were there during July and it was scorchingly hot. Getting the Fast Passes did a lot to lessen the wait times for rides. Overall, Walt Disney World was quite an enjoyable experience. We found that it pays to do some research and planning before visiting Disney World. |
