Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head Island in South Carolina is full of resorts, tennis courts, and golf courses and lots of people relaxing and spending money or looking as if they could spend money if they wanted to. Somehow, the beach seems to get lost in all this. We stayed at the luxurious Crowne Plaza Resort. We took a 3 hour bike ride during mid afternoon and paid the price for not administering sun screen. Hilton Head Beach does allow bikes! We missed going to Harbortown but spent some time in one of the local coffee shops--can't recall the name--where the very friendly owner sat and talked to us for a while. This occurred during the "music" break. The performance involved a man with a Fender Telecaster guitar himself quite a bit. Resort lovers should like Hilton Head Island.
