Singapore
Singapore is by far our most favorite city. We were engaged there during our
two week stay. We had so much fun that we realized we'd missed our flights back.
We stayed at the Garden City Hotel which is within taxi and MRT distance from
the city. We did a lot of exploring around malls and visitied a few churches and
saw the Aquarium, museum, and just plain indulged in the culture of Singapore.
One of the most outstanding and literally palatable experiences during our Singapore visit had to be experiencing the excellent asian food. The best and spiciest Indian curry we have ever tasted was at Muthu's Curry in Little India. The very best cuisine we agreed was available in the outdoor budget dinning areas called "Hawker centers." The tom yum soup and baby kailan were delicious.
We kept meeting friendly people from all over the world everywhere we went. There aren't many eye-dazzling attractions in Singapore, but we'd have to say that the most attractive thing about Singapore was the people of Singapore themselves. It was uncanny and reminded me of living in the southern U.S. Singapore. There is a whole lot more that we'd like to say about the Merlion city and I'm sure we will as we talk about it over and over and memories keep resurfacing.
